Welcome to the Northgate High School Mathematics Department. Here we will provide information about the Mathematics teachers, classes, programs, and organizations. The Mathematics department strives to engage all students in active and participatory learning with the hopes of creating elite students, logical thinkers, and life-long learners of mathematics and related subjects.
The age in which we are living has focused increased attention on the importance of mathematics. Our curriculum is an ever-changing one, based on research and the needs of our increasingly technological society. To meet these demands, we continue to investigate, evaluate, and incorporate the textbooks, equipment, and materials judged to be the best of our school community.
In this spirit, our courses stress the themes of problem solving, communication, reasoning, and mathematical connections, in a sincere belief that the student who has a firm foundation in mathematics will be better prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
